Best omakase ever! Recommend the sake pairing to complete the full experience. Perfectly paced and the right amount of courses

The most wonderful birthday experience ever in a warm, classy, unpretentious environment. Thank you to Yusuke Yamamoto, and my friend YaLi, for treating me to the best sushi of my life!

Whoa. Amazing experience. Intimate setting. Impeccable service. Highlights were the crab/truffle, uni (Japanese uni is way better than Californian uni), caviar, and sea bass.

Yusuke, Tyler, and Teppei San are a warm trio that serves up a delightful dinner. Yusuke has been serving and creating his delicious dishes for years for our family. Great for a special occasion or just a splurge on a good meal supporting a local business.

I have been back a few times since my first visit, and I really enjoyed the premium quality! I also want to correct misspelling of Yusuke Yamamoto in my first review!

I'm not sure if you've found complete happiness with life until you've experienced Yamamoto. This was such an amazing dinner I will never forget. From the service to the quality of ingredients. Ambiance is very personal you feel so connected. I would even recommend going by yourself just to experience such joy. Wish yelp would let me post more pictures, guess you guys will just have to book reservations to find out the rest. Also they have the best Japanese white wine! I need to find this for myself! Chateau Mercian! After each glass I had asked was amazing. From American to French ending in Japanese, done and dusted out of this world!

Right off the bat, their service staff seemed a bit off, but they are new, and visibly trying to improve, which is commendable. The chef was friendly, too. The food was good, and by LA standards, maybe even great. But was it superior to Urasawa, the previous resident here? If you're a traditional Japanese sushi purist, probably not. It felt a bit less polished, less fine-tuned. Yet for those who just want an onslaught of toro, caviar, and Miyazaki A5 without the meticulous artistry, this place might be your jam. Overall, this place is too similar to the other 'new wave' of omakase spots popping up around LA, but it does rank among the better ones. I'm giving it a 4/5 for the enjoyable experience, although by global standards, it would be more of a 3.5/5. Shunji is on par at 3/4's the price and Kaneyoshi's collaboration with Inaba on Tuesdays is far more bang at the same cost. One thing I did NOT appreciate and would go as far as to condemn them for was their corkage fee for wine and champagne: $150/750ml, which escalates to $200/750ml after a few bottles. I've dined at some of the world's top 2-3 Michelin star restaurants, and this corkage fee is ridiculous, even by those standards (and they're nowhere near there yet). It's customary to share your drink with the chef at Omakases and I enjoy doing so, but I'll probably never want to do so here if they're charging these prices for corkage.

Thank you so much chef Yamamoto & Teppei-san for a great night yesterday! $400 per person (before tax, gratuity, and wine) Reservation via Tock All the seafood, meat, greens, are just so fresh without doubt. The courses are very innovative! The first course already caught my attention- Astrea caviar with uni & shiso leaf, together fried as tempura- so umami, so sweet, and shiso is just such a great idea enhancing the overall flavor. The amaebi, ebi, are so tender and sweet! The sushi rice is not that sour, but towards sweet&salty-ish, which makes the sweetness of the shrimp stands out more. The abalone with uni, cold udon, and umami jello on a lotus leaf (?) is beautiful & tasty. As my friends say, it "tastes like pure ocean". The Hokkaido crab with uni - who doesn't love a spoonful of uni? It's never a wrong idea. A mouthful of happiness. Miyazaki beef with red rice vinegar and greens is great idea too- the rich flavor and oily texture of the beef, but the vinegar cleanse the palate. They broil the unagi I think, which I've never saw before (I think most do grill). The unagi melts in your mouth. Oh. My. God. And of course the amazing desert, ice cream made of Shizuoka melon. In elegant Tiffany plate. Of course there are other dishes I did not mention but they are equally good. Everyone is so chill, light hearted, genuine...I just enjoyed so much talking to the chef, the manager, the waiter, and the other guests. I would say it was so worth the money for such a good night like this. Enjoying gourmet and having great conversations with these amazing people. Thank you again!!! I would definitely come back
